With pride they came, faces aglow
To get their PhD from the governor, you know
But the governor had to leave
To see off the chief guest, I believe
So a peon was left in charge of the show!

The Telegraph 04/12/06:They came from far and wide to receive the biggest academic honor of their lives from the hands of the governor. But the 250-odd PhD-holders from Utkal University were in for an unpleasant surprise at the institute’s 40th convocation ceremony. Governor Thakur, the chancellor of the university, wanted to leave early so that he could see off visiting Union cabinet secretary and chief guest B.K. Chaturvedi.
